Time Management

So much to do, so little time…..typically these days there are more opportunities than resources or time, so effective time management is paramount. Anyone can achieve things given unlimited time and resources, but the trick is to make the most of what you have and finding ways to get things done, even when the odds are against you. You need to be resourceful with what resources you do have, looking for alternative ways of doing things and challenging yourself to do more with less.

Time Management - Introduction

Too busy to take a break?
Schedule regular breaks to rest and recharge, improving focus and productivity throughout the day.

Do you fail to prioritise?
Use the Eisenhower Decision Matrix to prioritise tasks based on urgency and importance for better time management.

Are you easily distracted?
Minimise distractions by scheduling email checks, letting calls go to voicemail, and communicating availability to colleagues.

Do you take on too much?
Learn to say yes to the person but no to the task by clarifying limitations and offering alternatives.

Do you forget things?
Use prioritised to-do lists, such as a "today" list or coding tasks by priority, and break big tasks into smaller steps for better organization.

Do you procrastinate?
Break tasks into small, manageable pieces and start with one piece at a time to overcome procrastination and make progress.

Do you fail to set personal goals and objectives?
Set SMART goals to clarify your direction, prioritise effectively, and improve your time management.

Do you schedule your time effectively?
Tackle your most important tasks during your peak productivity times and schedule low-priority tasks for less productive periods.
